Unearthly City - Sydney in the time of Coronavirus - 2020

I shot these images during March and April 2020 around Sydney, depicting the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. I wanted to document Sydney during this pandemic as a unique moment in time that hopefully will never happen again! These images were taken on sunny afternoons, normally bustling with tourists, workers and shoppers. The deserted streets of the CBD and closure of landmarks such as The Opera House and restaurants around The Harbour created an eerie stillness. Bizarrely, hairdressers were deemed an ‘essential’ service so were allowed to remain open for business. It was not always easy to enforce social distancing at popular beaches of Bondi and Manly.
